The Miracle on 7th Street
God has provided a building of our own at 228 7th St SE. We are renovating it into a permanent home for worship, discipleship, and ministry in the heart of D.C.

GraceWay's Timeline
Eleven years of God's grace — from our first call to the miracle on 7th Street.
Called to Serve in DC
After sixteen years serving as missionaries in Papua New Guinea, Pastor Brad and Deborah Wells left the mission field, sensing God's call to plant a church in Washington, D.C.
A church is born at Hill Center
Brad and Deborah Wells answered the call to plant a church in Washington, D.C. GraceWay Baptist Church held its first service at Hill Center on Capitol Hill.
A weekly witness at the Supreme Court
GraceWay began a weekly National Prayer Meeting on the steps of the Supreme Court — a standing call to believers to plead for our nation before the God of Heaven. That gathering continues to this day.
Shepherd's Cove opens its doors
The church began renting a house near Hill Center in the Eastern Market neighborhood, naming it "Shepherd's Cove." It became a gathering place for church events and a home for young men serving in the ministry.
GraceWay's Undisclosed Location
During COVID, GraceWay kept meeting — gathering at an undisclosed location each week and setting up pop-up tents with all our sound and video equipment at the Capitol, Hill Center, and local parks for every single service.
The Miracle on 7th St
God provided a permanent home for GraceWay. Due diligence is complete, and a temporary setup is already functioning inside — the first step toward a fully renovated building for the next generation.
What we're building
A Christ-centered church
For eleven years GraceWay has preached the Gospel from Eastern Market to the steps of the Supreme Court. Every renovation decision starts here — a church built to make Christ known on Capitol Hill.
A permanent ministry center
Classrooms, offices, and children's ministry space — a lasting home for GraceWay's staff, students, and outreach across Capitol Hill.
A 250-person sanctuary
A 250-seat sanctuary, worship platform, and modern media booth — a sacred gathering place for GraceWay’s families, Capitol Hill neighbors, and corporate worship. Design and planning are underway.
